Gear Design Optimisation

Precision Solutions for Quieter Gears and Enhanced Gearbox Performance

Transmission Dynamics specialises in gear microgeometry optimisation, focusing on minimising Transmission Error (TE) to reduce gear noise and vibration. Transmission Error is a function of gear geometry design (both macro and microgeometry) and is influenced by mesh stiffness, manufacturing errors, gear load and mesh alignment.

Through detailed gear microgeometry analysis under various load conditions and mesh alignments, lead and profile modifications can be optimised to minimise noise characteristics.
